About the Event

Beth Huchinson: Growing up on a Pennsylvania farm—collecting insects, identifying birds, wandering through meadows and woods, and gardening—led Beth to choose a career in the natural sciences. After a B.S. in Zoology and an M.S with research in tropical ecology, she joined the Peace Corps in Guatemala, volunteering as an agricultural extension agent. There she met her husband, a 10th generation Cape Codder who loves dahlias. She retired to his home town after 7 moves during his career; she gardened in all regions. She became certified as a Barnstable County Master Gardener in 2021 and grows dahlias for the spring plant sale. She continues her life-long support of conservation as a trustee of the Chatham Conservation Foundation and leads the Chatham Garden Club volunteers at the Oyster Pond pollination garden.

Refreshments will be served at 9:00 AM

Meeting will start at 9:45 AM, followed by presentation.
